7 Simple Strategies To Totally Intoxicating Your Robots That Vacuum And Mop

Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills, staining) in one time without the need to switch out devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. Its mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.

For example, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot has accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being capable of operating for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to view all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. It's not like the model from last year, this one features two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean around the objects without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin auto-refilling.

The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. You can change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features.  autonomous vacuum  lets you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry debris, including pet hair and food particles. It comes with a mop that is top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brushes, which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. The robot can also reach under furniture that is low-profile, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice touch that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by repeated back-andforth movements.

Contrary to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and intuitive The X40 has many smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has numerous features which make it a good choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and notify you before it gets overflowing, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive available, but it packs in many extra features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and soiled spots.

The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a useful way of keeping your home clean for longer.

There's a plethora of settings available that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and alter a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app or buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with many features that aren't available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it feels robust and well built. Mopping is well designed and  autonomous vacuum -rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
